Wine is a free and open source software application that aims to allow computer programs written for Microsoft Windows to run on Unix-like operating systems. To install wine 1.5.16 in Ubuntu open terminal (Alt+Ctrl+t) and write the following commands
- Many improvements to the CMD command-line parser.
- More stream classes in the C++ runtime.
- Support for managing services in WMI.
- Improved CPU detection.
- Various bug fixes.

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
Step 2: Update sources.lst
