How to Install Google-Chrome in Ubuntu 11.10/12.04 using Terminal


Google-chrome is a cross-platform web-browser which runs on any platform whether it is mac , linux or windows. The main reason for the popularity of google-chrome is that it runs web-page and application with lightning speed .

To install Google-Chrome in Ubuntu 12.04/11.10 , copy and paste following commands in your terminal (Ctrl + Alt + t)

Step 1: Add Linux-repository public key from Google

$ wget -q -O - https://dl-ssl.google.com/linux/linux_signing_key.pub | sudo apt-key add -

Step 2: Run the following command

$ sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list.d/google.list

Step 3: Write following lines and save it.

deb http://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable main



Step 4: After saving the file run the command to update your system

$ sudo apt-get update

Step 5: Run the command to install stable version of Google-Chrome

$ sudo apt-get install google-chrome-stable


You have successfully Installed Google-Chrome . Enjoy :)
