Xpad is a third party sticky note app that is loved and used by many. It is lightweight, simple, yet extremely useful application. There is no need to add extra repository for Xpad as it is already present in Ubuntu Repository.
To install Xpad in Ubuntu open terminal (Ctrl + Alt + t) and type following commands
Step 1: Update your sources.list
$ sudo apt-get update
Step 2: Install Xpad
$ sudo apt-get install xpad
Xpad is highly customizable. You can add basic styling (bold, italics, underline, etc) to the text, change the background color on the fly, resize the notes. Each note comes with a toolbar that allows you to control all the note on an individual basis. You can even add or remove extra icons to the toolbar to make it more interactive.
