Cairo Dock 3.1.1 is available for download , To install it in Ubuntu 12.04/12.10 follow these simple steps
Step 1: Add Cairo Dock Repository
Step 2: Update sources.list
Step 3: Install Cairo Dock 3.1.1
That's it you have Successfully installed Cairo Dock. To launch it go to Dash and type Cairo Dock and select it. Check out the screenshot
You can use Cairo Dock alone by logging out and select session Cairo Dock Gnome and log in.
You can change Cairo Dock appearance and other settings according to your convenience by right click on Cairo Dock and select Cairo Dock --> configure
