How to Install Libre-office in Ubuntu
Libre office is an free and open source office suite developed by The Document Foundation. It included different components like Writer is the word processor inside LibreOffice , Calc analyze your data and then use it to present your final output , Impress is the fastest and easiest way to create effective multimedia presentations , Draw lets you build diagrams and sketches from scratch , Base is the database front-end of the LibreOffice suite , Math is a simple equation editor that lets you lay-out and display your mathematical, chemical, electrical or scientific equations quickly in standard written notation.
To Install libre office in Ubuntu
1.Remove open office completely$ sudo apt-get purge openoffice*.*
or
$ sudo apt-get autoremove openoffice*.*
or
$ sudo apt-get autoremove openoffice*.*
2.Installation via PPA
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/ppa
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice
3. gnome user- install following package for better back end integration
$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice-gnome
4. KDE user- install following package for better back end integration
$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice-kde
5. To enable PDF import capability install
$ sudo apt-get install libreoffice-pdfimport
6. To enable English spell checking capability install
$ sudo apt-get install language-support-en
