Shutter is a feature-rich screenshot program. It allow you to take a screenshot of a specific area, window, your whole screen, or even of a website – apply different effects to it, draw on it to highlight points, and then upload to an image hosting site, all within one window. Shutter is free, open-source, and licensed under GPL v3.
Shutter 0.90 has been released on December, 19th 2012. This release fixes bugs and removes some error prone (or unused) features.
Improvements in Shutter 0.90
- Keybinding code (code needs to be written for every single desktop environment) and the Simple Selection Tool (superseeded by the Advanced Selection Tool) has been removed in order to keep Shutter codebase easier.
- Three plugins (3Dreflection, 3Drotate, bordereffects) removed due to licencing issue.
- This release adds a new option to show the main window (useful when running Unity).
