Install Thunderbird 16.0.1 in Ubuntu 12.04/11.10/11.04/10.10

Mozilla Thunderbird is a free, open source, cross-platform email and news client developed by the Mozilla Foundation.

To install Mozilla Thunderbird 16.0.1 in Ubuntu open terminal (Alt + Ctrl + t) and type following commands

Step 1: Add Thunderbird Repository

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/thunderbird-stable

Step 2: Update sources.list

$ sudo apt-get update

Step 3: Install Thunderbird 16.0.1

$ sudo apt-get install thunderbird

That's it , you have successfully installed Thunderbird 16.0.1. To check Thunderbird version, type following command in terminal

$ thunderbird -v
Thunderbird 16.0.1
