As we know that now Ubuntu default desktop environment is Unity. But everybody is not liking Unity so they can try other desktop environment like Gnome , KDE , Xfce , Lxde etc. Today I am going to tell you how to install KDE in Ubuntu. KDE (K desktop environment) is another desktop environment.It is known for its Plasma Desktop, a desktop environment provided as the default working environment on many Linux distributions, such as Kubuntu, Pardus and openSUSE.

KDE has 3 version include standard , full and Kubuntu destro version. To install KDE in Ubuntu open terminal (Ctrl + Alt + t) and write the following command

1. Install standard version which includes least KDE applications but not including KDE multimedia apps.

$ sudo apt-get install kde-standard

2. KDE desktop environment with full KDE application packages.

$ sudo apt-get install kde-full

3. KDE desktop environment based on Kubuntu.

$ sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop

That's it.
Enjoy :)
